Neat lighthouse a little north of Sanibel. Old Port Boca Grande (or Gasparilla Island) Light. Interesting style. On the way you will pass an interesting range light, the Boca Grande Rear Range Light.

Maybe these pages will also help a little.

Turbo, If you travel I-275 across the "Sunshine Skyway" bridge between St. Petersburg, and Sarasota, during the day and you have really good eyesight you can see "Egmont Key" light just off to the west. If you cross by night you can see it by the flash. You can get a pretty good view from "Fort Deseto Park." However the only way to get to this light is by boat. I was working down in Tampa, last fall and got the chance to see Sanibel, the Gasparila lights (Boca Grande), (Gasparila rear range) and Egmont (from the park). I also took two days and drove to Miami to see Cape Florida, Hillsboro, and Jupiter. My boss sent me from Tampa to Jacksonville, so I stoped at Ponce de Leon and St Augustine, on the way. He couldn't figure out why it took me 10 hours to drive a 4 hour trip.

I asked for help on a trip and someone recommended Pinpoint Guides from Amazon.com. They are laminated maps of the area and have directions to each lighthouse. Also inexpensive. Have fun!
