Last Saturday I had the fun and privilege of taking an excursion out of Stonington, Maine. While the closer lights are seen often in pictures, here are the two most remote ...

SADDLEBACK LEDGE

MANTINICUS ROCK

Blessed by perfect weather ... mid 60's and relative calm ... the other lights were Isle au Haut. Heron Neck, Browns Neck, Goose Neck and Mark Island.

Nice shots, Grover. Couldn't have asked for better weather!

Those are two I've never seen.

Now those are two super photos! It makes us feel like we were right there. Two rare lights seldom photographed, as far as I know.

Thanks so much for sharing!

Beautiful day and photos Grover! These pics are one more reason that I would love to get back to Maine.

Great pictures Grover! I would love to get out to Matinicus someday. I've seen Saddleback and was blessed with a great day also. But Matinicus is still somewhere in my future.

Thanks for sharing.

Lorie,

I agree that these shots are one more reason for getting back to Maine. I can think of a thousand others also. It is a great state with many offshore lights left to be seen and photographed.

Thanks for sharing, Barry! These are two I'd like to get to one day...though, since I havn't even been to Maine proper yet (it seems to be the "cursed" trip - something always interrupts our plans), I guess I should worry about that, first.

Aren't those the stubs of the earlier towers on the ends of Matnincus' keeper's house?
