Hi Margret!

Checked out the internet and found out that Stonington, CT was settled in 1649. The only light with that shape in the area would be the Old Saybrook light, but that's a few miles away from Stonington. I'm wondering if the picture is of an authentic light or a faux light. Anyway I hope that we at least have the location right. Maybe Ron Foster or some other Connecticut member can shed more light for you.

Definitely latimer reef, but not the latimer Reef of today.

Sixty years ago it would have looked like this:

I'd love to see Latimer Reef, as it was, done as a HL LE in the near future.

Definately how it looked 60 years ago. cool

Curious as to why they didn't use a picture of Stonington Harbor Lighthouse.

Wow ... Thanks folks! applaud

Sandy, if ever I understand WHY people use the lights they do on these stamps and labels, I will let you know. It is curious how they choose them.
