Sue, I had the wrong adaptor too, and am waiting for the right one to arrive by mail. So I hope the right one does make it brighter.

I found the perfect place to display Stratford (for me) for Christmas ( this & Hereford are the only Christmas HL's I have).
Because it curves, it fits supurbly on an end table at the base of a lamp that has a round base. I usually put Christmas wreaths around the base of the lamps...I like this SO much better!

Hereford sits on the other end table. The Dept. 56 nautical NE village resides in the dining room.

Then my Fresnel lenses are lined up on the mantel w/ small snow-topped garland and tiny white lights. The sm. Fresnel ornaments are on the tree.
