John - I compared the 2 Point Fermins that I have and there is a considerable difference in the depth of the cross member between the 2 pieces. The lower number piece #1061 has deep cross members and the higher number piece #1976 has shallow cross members. The difference in depth between the 2 pieces is about 1/64 of and inch. Is this what you remember or is this just the residue left over from using a mold over and over?
