Thanks for the warning Dennis - I think I have allowed adequate travel time. We are staying in Petaluma. I am planning on 2 3/4 hours to Mendocino, 1 hour from there to Point Arena, 1 1/4 hours from Pt. Arena to Fort Ross State Historic Site, and 2 hours from Ft. Ross to the entrance to Point Reyes National Seashore. From there we go to Tiburon for dinner at Guaymas (a Mexican seafood restaurant) before heading back to the hotel.
By the way, do you have any suggestions on a place for lunch in Mendocino?
