I don't think anyone who really knew the way the Youngers operated could call them greedy. Not only were they generous to the collectors, but they were instrumental in contributing to the saving of many lighthouses. After all, it was they who got so many of us involved in lighthouse preservation in one way or another. They educated everyone about their historical significance and contributed a huge amount of their own money, as well. They considered us all a part of their family, providing a very personal touch to what could have been strictly business.
