I don't know what to tell you, Dan. I tried something in your post but it didn't work so I removed it. That's why you see the edit message with my name. I put [img] at the beginning and [/img] at the end. Then I changed JPG to jpg. Your link disappeared and the picture box with the red X appeared. When this happend and the picture didn't appear, I decided to return it to your original post. Maybe someone else can figure it out. Maybe your picture is stored differently than posted in your link. Bob - I had the advantage that I could peer into the storage files where Elmer's photos were and see that he had uploaded it with a capital JPG extension.

Hi Bob & John I was now trying to post some photos from a trip up to the GLLF and per John's advice, I added the [url= and ] and [/url] but, once again, when I tested the post the links again showed but not the photos. Each link uses the extension .JPG (capital letters) as the at was the extension that the files were uploaded with. Any ideas .... one of these days I'll get it right the first time. Dan

I can't help you out unless you actually post the link that is NOT working... Then I can check it out, but I'm not psychic, Elmer. LOL
Did you by chance have extra spaces between the URL and the [url= and ] and [/url]?

Don't think there were any extra spaces. I did it in Word and tried cutting and pasting it in. I'll check it again and post it in the Map Room. I hope it works .... if not ..... Dan

I'm a little confused - if Dan uses the URL tags he will create a link to the picture, but not display it. The viewer will have to click the link to go to the picture. If he uses IMG tags the image will be displayed in the post.

This shows the face of old block chipped away (some of the old block can be seen in the upper left). The remaining old block is filled with mortar and reinforcing rebar. The new block face (which is solid) is then mortared in place (hence, forming a solid block wall). The new block is in the lower right of this picture. The new block work is approximately 4 feet from the top where the concrete slab, below the lantern room, is located. An additional 3 feet or so of block will be installed just below the new lantern room on top of the concrete slab. The Branford House on the University of Connecticut Avery Point Campus is about 150 yards from the lighthouse. This was originally built by Morton Plant and was part of his sprawling private estate. At a special news conference at the Avery Point Lighthouse on November 3, 2003 U.S. Congressman Rob Simmons announced that The House of Representatives appropriated $100,000 toward the restoration of the lighthouse. (L to R) Dale Treadway & Jim Streeter, Co-Founders of Avery Point Lighthouse Society; Joe Comprone, Dean of UCONN Avery Point Campus; Representative Rob Simmons of Connecticut. Jim Streeter, Joe Comprone and Congressman Rob Simmons with check for $100,000. Dale Treadway & Jim Streeter (with check), Joe Comprone and Congressman Rob Simmons answer questions from the crowd. Congressman Rob Simmons answers questions for the local WSUB radio station following the check presentation ceremony.

Ron -- you uploaded the file with a lower case extension '.jpg' but you used an upper case one when you included the link above. I changed it to lower case and the photo shows correctly.
John
