Brown's Point Light may not be the prettiest but it is very functional.. The Society here has done a wonderful job of restoring the keeper's house, which is still under way as you can see.. I will add some dash cam pics shortly..

Our group started the day with a visit to Cape Disappointment, the Coast Guard there guided our tour to the top and the light.. It was a overcast morning yesterday but that sure didn't put a damper on the up close tour, thanks Derith!

After our tour of Cape Disappointment, most of the group headed to Point No Point Lighthouse for the next stop.. The Brady's, the Toth's and the McBee's found a great stop for lunch about half way there.. The name of the place is the Pine Tree Tavern.. Roy, Gary and I all had their special Pine Tree Burger; what a sandwich!! Then it was back to Point No Point for Sue and I since we had stayed in the keeper's house for two nights last week..
Attached Files
06062011_4035.jpg (168 downloads) I never get in the pictures so at the Pine Tree I got in two..

Oh sure, we got them to fix the lock at Cape Disappointment, and you got to climb.
Easy on the CMs Ruthie, you'll miss a good trip (tic). We miss being there! I saw you logged in on Paul's pc this morning.

She has her own Mac, Bob!! We did have a moment at breakfast, though.. Not only the lock Bob but they have a new cement road (path) up the mountain to get to the light and since Sue had her surgery and we have a temp handicapped parking thingy, I got to drive her to the light following Derith and the Coastie driving others up..

Quoted for truth.
I still curse that stupid lock at Cape D.
Just like I curse another broken lock at Sanibel Island light.

While not as pretty, Marrowstone Light is still functional as a light.. We stopped there yesterday morning in overcast and rain before taking the ferry over to Admiralty Head Lighthouse where the skies cleared and the sun shown brightly..

I figured lack of access and/or cost was the reason we haven't heard much since the cruise ship was boarded. We'll patiently look forward to day-by-day reports when you get within signal range from alternative shore-based access.
