I found some photos of the Coast Guard Academy Chapel in my fathers slides taken in 1960.

My mom's notes for this picture, which are a little hard to read say

I don't understand what is 5" high - the bricks?

Then written in tiny writing on this slide it says

White colonial-style chapel is located on the highest hill in New London, CT and its steeple with its rotating Pierhead tower Lantern like Great Lakes lighthouse - can be seen all over the surrounding area. Below lantern is memorial wreath and then fencing typifies Widows' Walk - below than is sold VT marble bollards to which ships tie in port


I have never heard of a lighthouse chapel. Is this what it is?
