Which version of Hooper Strait has the removable roof?

From looking at the Offical Collectors Guide, I see there are 3 limited editions & one GLOW, not counting the LLOM & thumbnail.

I know that HL 640 has a removable roof; uncertain if HL 642 does as well.

Only the HL640 version of Hooper Stait has the removable roof which shows the invidual rooms inside in detail. This piece was original only available from the 2001 HL Reunion in Baltimore, MD.

It is definitely worth having in you collection. I think it is one of the BEST HL pieces in my collection!

I agree, it is a very nice concept and if you have ever toured a screwpile lighthouse it will remind you of what they are like on the interior.. It gives you warm and fuzzy memories!!

I love my HL640 Hoopers Strait. I attended the 2001 Reunion here in Baltimore. I love to show it to my friends and family and it always sparks interest and admiration.

If that seller would have put those three pieces up for sale right after the reunion, he might have made a nice profit. The way things are now, I doubt that anyone will even bid. The seller would have been better off with a really low minimum bid and a reasoanble reserve to protect his or her investment, and hope for a bidding war.

Posting $499.99 as an opening minimum bid just indicates the merchandise is being offered "for sale" just in case a collector has deep pockets and the desire to own those three HL's.

Bob- Good points on selling an expensive piece. I noticed the seller of the CH1 #11 that listed it for $2,000 on ebay recently ( and got 0 bids ) came back with a starting bid of $50 now with a reserve that has been adjusted once already. It's at $510 today (reserve not met).
Recently, a 2001 Baltimore Reunion "Dinner at the Lighthouse" HL645 Seven Foot Knoll piece sold for $68.04 on ebay.

Anyone have side by side pics of either of the two full size LE's(640 & 642) and/or the GLOW version(461)?
