ALF Spring Spectacular May 16-18, 2008 in Portsmouth, New Hampshire

Join the American Lighthouse Foundation for our biggest event of the year! Take a part in or just enjoy the fun during our first "Lighthouse Trivia Challenge," then cruise aboard the M/V Thomas Laighton from Portsmouth, NH to see 5 lighthouses including Maine's Boon Island and Nubble Light.

Topping off the weekend will be our Annual Dinner featuring guest speaker Chris Mills who is an author and former lighthouse keeper.

I would think that some of this site's users would be interested in taking part in the "Lighthouse Trivia Challenge" in May. Here's how it will work.

When you order tickets, you can put your name in if you want to be a contestant. We'll draw the names at the event to pick the contestants. There will be 5 rounds in all, with 4 players in each round, with the winners of the first 4 rounds going on to the final round.

There will be a game board, similar to Jeopardy with categories and point amounts, projected onto a large screen. Contestants will "buzz in," just like a TV game show. Bob Trapani of ALF will be the MC, and I'll be the judge/computer operator.

We're gathering some great prizes, including a stay at the Lighthouse Inn on Cape Cod. If anyone would like to donate prizes, let me know at keeper@lighthouse.cc.

The evening also will feature a light dinner buffet with sandwiches and seafood chowder.
