Please vote in this poll whether you intend to purchase or do not intend to purchase a proposed Limited Edition Lighthouse to honor members of the Collectors Forum. It is important that a true indication of your commitment to purchase be reflected in this poll.
As a member of the working group formed to work out the details for the special lighthouse, I would like to post this poll. This is strickly for my own information and does not necessarily reflect what is being worked on or being planned by our group. It also does not mean that what is popular here will be adopted. The results of this poll will be looked at, but, because of Harbour Lights policies and restrictions may not be feasible. This poll does not reflect views or opinions of our working group.
Now that everybody understands the above, there will be 2 questions with 4 choices for each question. You may select only one choice for each question. I would appreciate it if all Forum Members look at this poll and cast a vote regardless of their decision to buy or not to buy.

I answered I would buy one, but may buy two depending on which lighthouse is choosen and the price.

$50 seems way too much for a piece the size of a LLOM, even a larger sized one, imo.

Mombo, I used $50 as a breaking point to differentiate between the 2 sizes. Most LLOMs are small and sell in the $13-$22 range. A larger then normal LLOM with special features probably would go in the $30-$40 range so I listed $50 as the top end.
The Cockspur Island size larger piece could go from $50-$70 depending on features and actual size. Again I used the $60-$70 as a ballpark range.
I posted this poll for my own information and to see just how others would react to some costs that I guesstimated to be average for a piece of these sizes.

I just the would think I would react the opposite of the poll. Lower number, larger size, $60 would mean I'd buy more.

A piece the size of the one made for the Lighthouse Depot would be great if Harbour Lights will cooperate. We are in the early planning stages and still don't know what restrictions HL will require. This poll is for my information and is only to find out what other members are willing to buy in to.

I think the size of the Lighthouse Depot Harbour light is a good size...If we are asking for 600 pieces like LH Depot did, I don't see why it would be a problem.
One more post and I am a Wacko!!

If you're reading this post, I hope you have voted in this poll already. We need to know the members of the CF are excited about this project. Bob

Bob, It appears to me that so far the total number of votes has indicated less than wildly enthusiastic participation. And that’s a dang shame. bobo

Don't give up because of low poll numbers. I know my dad and I both would love to have one of these. I just think most people in you group don't do the polls because they are busy like me and just read the threads they like and log out. Once there is more of a plan to do this, you will see a lot more interest.

I think the size of the "Dinner at Seven Foot Knoll" or the mini "Hooper Strait" that were given out at the last reunion would be a great size for a special piece. I voted that I would buy "1" no matter what the size or price.

The poll has been up less than one week. The ones that are busy right now, may not have even seen it yet.

I can't believe that some members said they would not buy one. This Lighthouse is designed to Honor the Forum Collectors and if everything goes as planed it will have a secondary market of more value then what it was purchased for. As soon as more loose ends are finalized I will give my estimate of its secondary value.

Well only time will tell how many we can sell. I think the lighthouse picked to be made can make a big difference. There is one suggestion made that I would only buy one (I have already promised to buy one no matter which is picked), however, others suggested I might buy two or more. Could make a great gift! I think the committee should keep in mind to pick one that the majority would want to fork over money to buy. I think the re-sell would be good, but if the choice is deemed as ugly, sales could be limited. I am all for it and if you need a promise to buy two go ahead and put me down for a least two. Take care.

The committee is doing it's best to pick a light that will please the majority of members. However, there is always going to be the member that wanted the choice to be his/her selection and that might not happen. If that person takes it as personal and chooses not to buy then there is nothing we can do. The choice to buy one, two or more totally depends on the individual buyer and whether they want to give them as gifts or play the secondary market with the extra pieces. I feel this piece will go up in value so I intend to buy an extra one or two. Remember, it is the buyers choice as to what they will or will not do and you can be assured the committee has been looking into all avenues.

Put me down for one or possibly two depending on the lighthouse. Opportunity knocks. Maybe I'll get lucky and it will be one I've been wanting HL to make. Thanks for your team effort.

I think the committee should keep in mind to pick one that the majority would want to fork over money to buy. 1.First of all the list that will be presented to HL is from the Collectors forum list. 2.The committee with all their hearts wants this Lighthouse to happen and be popular. The lights we have to work with are what the forum members gave us. We also kept in mind what seemed to be popular with the forum. 3.This is a business transaction between the collector’s forum and HL. As anyone that has dealt with purchasing a car knows, you try to get the best with the money you have. The amount of money we have is the amount of buyers. I personally believe that once the collectors outside the forum find out about this one it will pull a decent secondary market return. But we need up front forum members to commit and make this happen. 4.I hate for anyone to get all hung up on which Lighthouse is made. I think the most important thing is that this light will be the collector’s forum exclusive and it needs to be supported by everyone. If possible I feel that every forum member should commit to buying at least two. As time goes on I plan on talking a lot more about it, but for now I said enough.

I belive that Jenna, RIch and Danile all have made very valuable points. As stated earlier I am committed to at least two. Now do I have a preference as to which light is made? The answer is "definitely". BUt I'm not in this alone. I will give my opinion on which is to be made when the time comes to maybe vote on a scaled down list. From that point on it is out of our hands as the vote (if done) will be tthe deciding factor. Let's keep an open mind to what is going on and I'm sure that the end result will acceptable to all forum members. After all we will be the ones deciding. WOW! Looking forward to this one. Bert

One thing about buying two, use the second one to raise money for lighthouse preservation. We always have opportunity drawings for this purpose and we probably would use our second one for this purpose. Judy

Good points ALL! I will buy at least 2 but as I think more about it I will in all likelyhood purchase 3 more, 1 for each of my grand children who really liked their Avery Point gifts. Well at least the 1 who was old enough to make the connection to Grampa's "lotsa lights" and asks about them often. Possibly a future WACKO Like Avery Point this is something special! Rick
