Seeing that the manufacturer wasn't able to answer my question I thought I'd put it to the pros. I am considering purchasing a telephoto lens that is 2.0X. According to the owner's manual for the camera the range of the lens in the camera is equivalent to 39-117mm. So if I use the telephoto lens and full zoom what is the equivalent mm???? Personally I think the current zoom is better than 117 as I got this photo with it last year at Nubble and it already beat the pants off another 35mm camera that I bought and returned last year that had a zoom of 120 or more. http://a3.cpimg.com/image/6F/35/9612143-ddab-015201C2-.jpg

A 2x would convert the built in lens to 79 -> 234.
You said the 39 -> 117 is stated in the 35mm equivalent format size. So the max telephoto you can get out of the coverter is the equivalent of 234mm lens on a 35mm lens.
BTW. Thanks for the Ft. Gratiot card which arrived in good shape today!

Thanks John, so it just doubles the whole works. Seems simple enough, wonder why the SONY guy couldn't tell me that, maybe because he was still working on perfecting his English??? I guess I made you work a little for that card!
