Good times, good report, great photos. Thanks for taking us along. How many miles did you travel on this loop?

I really don't know but it was a tank and half of gas which was over $55. It was worth it I did not climb any but went into them. East point needs a lot of work it was sad to see.

Great photos!
John, we calculated our trip from LI, the Challenge, and back to LI was 632 miles total. I would estimate the number of miles just doing the Challenge to be around 400.

Am I right that this is an annual event? Always done in October?
Hopefully I will be able to attend next year. Only two I need to visit since I have seen the others.
So glad it was a good weekend and all had fun. Derith

These pics bring back good memories from when John and I were at the Baltimore Reunion. We enjoyed seeing most of these lights with our HL friends on the bus tours prior to the reunion. Thanks for taking the time to post the pictures and commentary. It looks like it was at least a dry weekend.

Fran,
Great photos. Wish I could have done the challenge this year. the weather was great once again- even if some places were a bit soggy still.
Derith,
You are correct. It is an annual event and is held on the third full weekend in October every year.
Hope you can make next years. Esther and I volunteered at Sea Girt this aftenoon this year (we've been at Hereford the last 2 years we volunteered).
Spent a good bit of the day today talking to Greg. I did not see any Wackos but I did get a chance to meet a couple of people from the lighthousing.net site.

Nice pics again! Thanks for sharing. I was a bit confused by the clear blue sky in the pics. I thought the lousy weather was still with you folks in NJ as it was in MA. I'm glad it cleared for all the folks doing the challenge! Bob

We were lucky to have a perfect day on sat and sunday. I did not see any Wackos on my trip and asked for Greg on Sat after 2:00 but he wasn't there.

Fran your pictures are "Picture Perfect". Thank you for sharing them. I too hope to do the NJ Challenge some year. It always seems to happen on my busy weekend when I can't get away. Bert

Bob, the weather was gorgeous (albeit WINDY) on Sunday. Blue skies, puffy clouds.
It was sprinkling when we got to Tinicum Saturday morning (7:30am), but the clouds cleared away and it was sunny the rest of the day.
Dennis, sorry we missed you at Sea Girt. We got there in the morning (after watching the sunrise at Barnegat), stayed for about an hour, then moved on to Navesink.

Diane,
Glad you had a good time on the NJ Challenge- at least on this one you didn't have to do too much work.
Any idea what dates the 2nd Annual Long Island Challenge will happen on? I sold several people on doing it next year while at Sea Girt Sunday. I told then probably in May but to keep checking the website.

Fran, appreciate the "big time" effort at posting these photos for us, they're super! And it's nice to see that there is still blue in the sky, somewhere, certainly not here. (Although late this afternoon it was finally somewhat sunny after a cool, wet and dreary week and a half.)

I know Tucker's Island is a re-creation, but did they paint Absecon or is it faded, 'coz it looks almost white to me? I also find it a little ironic that most lights are somewhat isolated yet Absecon has a hotel(?) sneaking into the picture.
Nice pictures.
