Dave H Saint Joined: Dec 1969 Posts: 7,895 Kokomo, IN	Sandy, the Canadians use a lot of red stripes (and crosses) to help the lights stand out against a snowy landscape. Same reason the USCG switched from white hulled ice breakers to red hulls.
