NAME THE FLAME PIC GAME 02 Round 2 May thru August Below is today's Light picture to be named. Heres a brief list of guidelines that will be used. 1. Every Thursday (usually in PM EST) a new light-puzzle will be presented, barring problems. 2. The light(s) may be from anywhere in the world. 3. Please limit guesses to 1/person/day 4. A hint may be provided every day starting on the 2nd day. 5. I will keep/post the running scores. 6. Scoring will be by points assigned for difficulty (1-5), and placement. For example, on a 5 point puzzle the following five levels will be awarded: 5 pts 1st correct answer, 4 pts 2nd, 3 pts 3 rd, 2 pts 4 th, 1 pts 5th For a 4 point puzzle there will be 4 levels awarded, etc. 7. DO NOT POST YOUR ANSWERS ! Email your guess with the active clue word from the solved jigsaw puzzle. 8. Your input (please!) with photos ENCOURAGED appreciated, and acknowledged when used. 9. Rate this a 5, but with a scoring twist.. Download this week's (Round 2, Week 6: PART ONE Once you have downloaded the game, just doubleclick on the exe file and start the STANDALONE VERSION. Remember, that solving the puzzle isn't by any means the end - you've got to use the completed puzzle as clues to figure which LH it is. But of course, you can't win the game until you solve the jigsaw puzzle. Right click on puzzle pieces to rotate them. Move them together and if you are right, they will stick together. Current Overall scores: Larry 33 T&J Abbott 32 DMancini 23 Harbourfan 10 Mombo 8 JC Rice 3 Pharologst - 0 Only one part this week, but with opportunity to score many points !! Solve the puzzle for scoring directions. Cumulative credit for partial answers towards positional points granted. [This message has been edited by pharologst (edited 06-09-2002).]

The link above in ORIGINAL POSTT IS NOW WORKING, so you can use it and eliminate a step or two from the procedure below. If you wish to play this week, it will take a slight bit more effort to download since JCHidester is having problems with his computer email since the move. Follow instuctions below: 1)Go to my FTP with this link: CLICK HERE 2) Locate MoNtAgE2.gif in the listing of files 3) Right click on it and "SAVE TARGET AS" to a file located on your computer 4) Once downloaded, RENAME the file to MoNtAgE2.exe. NOTE the only change is to the file extension from "gif" to "exe". 5) You are now ready to run this weeks jigsaw puzzle as usual!! If you have problems let me know via email. Sorry about the inconvenience, but John's move threw a few wrenches in a few places!! ------------------ [This message has been edited by pharologst (edited 06-07-2002).] [This message has been edited by pharologst (edited 06-09-2002).]

Give me some comments on recent weeks games. Are they REALLY too hard? Do you want more of the same, or do you want to return to the other style? Should I mix them up? Other....???? ------------------ [This message has been edited by pharologst (edited 06-07-2002).]

It's not that they are necessarily too hard. They are nerve wracking. I find myself staring and saying "where have I seen that picture before", "I know this one" and "wait 'til I get my hands on George" My vote is to mix them up. PS...I have submitted some answers...not all, but some

I would say at least mix them up. Or start a separate game with easier ones for new players and see if you get more participation.

So far this game, scoring is as follows: T&J - 4 Larry - 4 Diane - 1 Between you guys , you have 8 of the 15!! To all you others out there, jump on in and score a few points, get on the board, its fun and easy (?, LOL) ------------------ [This message has been edited by pharologst (edited 06-09-2002).]

George, Thanks for messing up our weekend! Question...Is it one guess per lighthouse, right or wrong, or can we submit a different guess each day until we get it right or the game ends, whichever comes first? Thanks, ------------------ Tom & Joyce [This message has been edited by Tom and Joyce Abbott (edited 06-09-2002).]

My 2 cents:
I like the challenge of the multi-part pictures, but I think 15 at once is a bit much (even if some are supposedly easy!).
I had to do a lot of internet searching (several hours worth) to come up with the answers for last week's puzzle. I'm kind of overwhelmed by this one, and consequently don't even know where to start (hence, my only scoring a single point so far).

You aren't kidding that some are not what they seem. I thought for sure that I had #15 dead on. I guess not. I knew that the others I got wrong could go either way.
It's interesting that between three of us, we have only 9 total correct answers and 8 different ones have been identified correctly.
Some of them, I don't think I'll ever get.
Come on mombo, Randy, Harbourfan, JCRice and everyone else. Some of these are fairly easy. Come have fun. Score some points. Learn about lighthouses that aren't the correct answers!
PS George...did you see the second part of my email? Email me back. Tell me what you think. Or do you need another clue?

Thanks,
You may guess until you get it correct or next THursday whichever come first. I'm keeping tabs on correct guesses for each and will post the ultimate scores for this game when complete or for someone who gets 15/15 correct. Will update overall scores at that time. I promise to make the next few weeks "a lot easier", so try to stimulate some interest in others to try out the game. The more the merrier!! ------------------ [This message has been edited by pharologst (edited 06-09-2002).]

I'd like to ask a question if I may. Is there a theme related to these lighthouses or are they just a random collection? Thanks, ------------------ Diane

No theme this week!! Current scores for this game: Larry - 10 T&J - 8 Diane - 3 Hints: There are 5 countries represented. 10 lights are in 8 states of the US ! Cape Hatteras IS NOT here! #1 s not really a lighthouse, but would fool most novices. Eleven have been correctly guessed. Countries include: USA, France, Portugal, Brazil, New Zealand #10&11 are in the same state #12&13 are in the same country ------------------ [This message has been edited by pharologst (edited 06-10-2002).] [This message has been edited by pharologst (edited 06-10-2002).] [This message has been edited by pharologst (edited 06-10-2002).] [This message has been edited by pharologst (edited 06-10-2002).] [This message has been edited by pharologst (edited 06-11-2002).] [This message has been edited by pharologst (edited 06-11-2002).] [This message has been edited by pharologst (edited 06-12-2002).]

#10&11 are in the same state
WOW! That makes it tough. I have #11, but can't find one in the same state that looks anything like #10. I think I now have a total of 13, but may hold off for the blockbuster clue.. [This message has been edited by Larry (edited 06-12-2002).]
