Members of Round Robins 1-5 please cast your vote. I usually try to keep member of the round robins limited to only 2 robins at a time to keep the card exchanges fair for everyone. As you all know it is hard to find lighthouse postcards from the west coast. We only have a few (1-2) members that are from the west coast in our robins. I recently had a person from Hawaii contact me regarding joining the round robins. This person is not on the forum and has never traded in this fashion. I have had a few members of the current robins email me or post on the robins that they are interested in receiving cards from this person. If the person from Hawaii plays by the rules, is everyone okay with me adding this person to more than two robins? At that point I would also need to know if you are willing to let other members from the west coast join more than 2.
I leave it in everyone's hands. You can either post here or email me - 4 of the robins just went out, so I would not add this person until I got the robins back again. I will total up the vote and see what we come up with. Thanks for your attention to this matter.

Let's give this person in Hawaii a chance to prove themselves before adding them to more than one list.

"And the sign says long-haired-freaky people need not apply, so I tucked my hair up under my hat and went in to ask him why..." Five Man Electrical Band
Rules? We don't need no stinkin' rules! Rules regulate and restrict what we do. What we do here is supposed to be fun. We need guidelines, not rules. We also need cooperation. Lets not restrict ourselves too much and eliminate the basic purpose of having fun.
A few guidelines are good (Cooperate or your gone). Too many guidelines are not good, they are restrictive. The more you restrict, the less fun it is.
Let the person from Hawaii join in on the fun!
 Bob

OK with me, put the Hawaii new member in front of me. I'll take the chance and the possible Hawaii LH cards that are hard to find. Bob

I agree with Bob M., but I also think that John has a point. He wasn't saying don't do it- just don't jump into the unknown.
Need I remind anyone of the problem we had with the one person on the round robin that stopped it cold.
Let the individual in Hawaii show they can work within the guidelines and then let it rip. Assumming they actually want to be on more Robins.

I agree with Dennis, put him on one list for a cycle and then if successful add him to others ....with one caveat. If he/she is permitted on more than two, then others should be permitted as well. Other than that , the more the merrier!!!!!

Let's encourage some more West Coasters to jump into these Round Robins.
Come on - we know you're out there in WA, CA, OR and have access to some neat Post Cards.
Join in!

Perhaps the person from Hawaii just returned from a trip to the NE and stopped at the LH Depot to stock up on cards?

Thank you all for your comments, you are pretty well summing up what I was already thinking, but I figured I would give everyone a chance at voicing their opinions. I would love to have more West Coast Collectors join us, but they seem like a rare breed these days. We will see how Glennys does before we add him/her to another Robin. (Please don't get upset, but I'm not sure it Glennys is male or female. I've never heard the name before, so I've just been using her/his name instead of using a gender specific title.) We will wait and see how Glennys does on his/her first robin and if he/she is interested in joining another robin. If so, I will add Glennys to the first robin that I receive back that he/she is not on. Is that a deal? Hopefully by then we will also have a few more West Coaster join in. By the Way Bob M, Tesla also did a remake of that song. ". . . Don't do this, don't do that, can't you read the signs!"
