How about jumping right into the action and get involved in helping to restore a lighthouse? St. George Reef Lighthouse, in CA, lost its lantern room and needs to replace/restore it.

This light is the winner of this year's vote for recipient for Forum donations. All you have to do is order a beautiful lighthouse pin and the proceeds will go towards this light. Last year we on the Forums made over $1000 to donate to Morris Island.

We need ALL newbies' help in this year's project. The committee has waived the previous 50 post requirements in order to raise more money for this lighthouse.

To get more details, read the longer post on the General Forum entitled: "NEW: Wacko pin needs your help" . Also please e-mail Lamar for ordering information at lamar@gs.verio.net

Deadline for ordering has been extended until October 1. Don't miss out on this unique lighthouse pin. Order right away and help preservation efforts.

Keep the Flame

Hey there Ladylightkeeper & Lamar, how's the selling of WACKO pins coming along? Only 9 more days left to get these great pins. I've ordered mine and can't wait to see them. Thanks again for all the work you guys do.

Hope that pin sales are growing. This restoration project really needs us, plus we get a pin as well. I knew that I had to be a part of this pin project when I saw the top of the lantern room laying on its side in Crescent City, Ca this summer. The restoration group has big plans for this light and we can give them a boost in this effort. Can you imagine spending a night in this light after it has been restored? I am just waiting for that time and saving my money in preparation.

My plan to fly out to and over St. George was thwarted by the weather while I was there. But, most of you know, there will be a next time.

Just as a reminder the deadline is coming fast, Oct. 1, 2000...wanted to put this at the top again...You surely don't want to miss out on this great pin...Might be a collectors item in the years to come...
