I wanted to take this time and pay honor to those who risked, and gave their lives at the battle of Normandy. When our forces marched into Germany, they came not to prey on a brave and defeated people, but to nurture the seeds of democracy among those who yearned to be free again. In the words of General Omar Bradley - "Every man who set foot on Omaha Beach that day was a hero." For those who risked, and gave their lives... We will always remember. We will always be proud. We will always be prepared, so we may always be free.

I agree Terry. We must never forget the sacrifice of the soldiers, sailors and airmen who fought in this great battle. Who fought not to conquer, but to free the conquered.

God bless America and to those brave souls who have helped keep it free. We must never forget those souls who have gone before us to make this country what it is today. Thanks Tim for posting this important rememberance.

The storming of Normandy...the thought sends shivers up my spine. If there's a person on the planet who hasn't yet seen Saving Private Ryan, the opening scenes probably provide the best identifiable glimpse into the sacrifices made by the brave men associated with this heroic deed. I raise my glass to all of them.
