I hope all goes well Larry. I have had the open the shoulder rotator cuff and decompression surgery and actually it is much easier than the under the shoulder and across the chest surgery I had to remove the 1st rib. At least they don't cut through muscle and it is much less painful and not as much down time. I think I only had to miss 4 weeks of work. You can move your shoulder and arm soon after surgery. It was considered outpatient surgery, but I ended up spending the night because I had trouble coming out of the anesthesia - just as well, during the overnight stay they gave me pain shots all night long.
