Welcome to the small circle of those Scouts who reach the top, Patrick. Earning the Eagle Rank takes a lot of work and dedication. Along the way you received help from many adults from scout leaders to those who volunteered to guide you through the different merit badges. But most of all, you know it took the dedication of Mom to see you through and provide support when the going got rough. Give her an extra hug when she pins that badge on you.

I received my Eagle badge in 1960, the 50th Anniversary of the founding of the Boy Scouts in America. That same year I went to the National Jamboree in Colorado Springs and Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico. It was sure a busy year.
