They are working fine for me and that is on two different formats. I use a PC at work with Netscape browser and Mac at home Netscape browser and the bulbs works fine in both cases.

John Everything seems fine so far. Came home yesterday after being gone for several days and everything on my screen was lit up. Looked like a night baseball game. Today, just a few, wondered if the bulbs were burned out. LOL Fred.

John the lightbulbs do not work for me. I am using the AOL IE browser. I have been using the dates of email postings to keep track of new additions.
Thanks, Sean

Try clicking on your browser's 'Reload' button to refresh the bulb status. This works some of the time.

Sean - do you not see the bulbs with yellow or plain, or do they not seem to update correctly?

John, Neither the light bulbs or the folder coloring is working for me. I'm using Sean's method, scanning dates & times. Lorraine

John etal, I just noticed that it told me the last time I visited was 5/24 (yeah, right!). That probably has something to do with the lights not working. (I've been here at least once a day...) Hope that helps narrow down the issue! :-)-8-<=

I do know the lightbulbs work from a cookie stored on your computer - so if you have turned off cookies, you won't get accurate bulbs.

This morning (5/29) I checked in and found two bulbs lit showing new messages. I went in and edited a message of mine and when I returned to the top level of the forums, ALL the lightbulbs were on.

John, (1)I have noticed that when editing a message the same thing happens sometimes, but only when you use the top right link to get back to the main forums page. I have been using the "back" button to get back and they are not all lit (using IE4.01, I use the newer "down" button to go back directly to the beginning, instead of "back" 3 or 4 individual page clicks to get back) (2)I have noticed that if the lights are a little screwy I just link to some other page off your site, then link back and they are alright. Sometimes "refreshing" twice instead of once fixes it also.

John, The Accepting Cookies Fix worked for me. The Lamps are Watching Properly.
Thanks, Sean

Yep - both you and Rod are confirming what I reported in the 'Anomolies' thread. Do you have any technical docs on the forum software or access to a tech support page from the 'Ultimate' vendor? I'll be happy to dig in and try to diagnose.
Yet another anomoly - about 1/3 of the time I don't get my Password and UserID duped in automatically. I'll have to fill them in to make this post. I realize this is cookie controlled, but its happening rather inconsistently.

With the forum software upgrade, the lightbulb indicators seem to be working correctly -- if you exit the forums and return. If you simply move from forum to forum, the lights don't change until you exit and return.

From my testing it appears you need to leave the site entirely and return for a true update of bulbs & folders. Leaving the forums and returning to the HLCIC home page isn't quite enough.
This may be a cookie management thing. I wonder if its possible for the board software to update the cookie based on coming into the forum page rather than the site. Do you have any end-user/admin control over this?
And thanks John for the URL to the vendor's page - for some reason I'm just seeing this today even though you posted it 3 weeks ago. Will check it out.
