Door County Lighthouse Raffle - 04/20/01 09:51 PM

It's that time of year again. Every May, our club participates in the Door County Lighthouse Walk. This year the walk is May 19th & 20th. Our booth is located at the Cana Island Lighthouse shuttle stop in Bailey's Harbor in the park behind the Town Hall. For the past two years we've had an excellent response with our raffles. If you have wanted to help save a lighthouse but there isn't one in your area or you can't find the time to volunteer, here's a way to help. We are holding a opportunity drawing to help our clubs adopted light, the Pottawatomie Lighthouse on Rock Island in Lake Michigan. One of our concerns is the lighthouses privy which needs immediate attention before it tumbles over.

Re: Door County Lighthouse Raffle - 04/25/01 02:17 AM

I might add here under your post Jim, that I have boat tickets, and walk tickets I must sell, (or maybe someone can make a donation to their favorite lighthouse.)
I have a last minute wedding to attend to, and can't use them. Anyone interested, please email me.
I have 2 for the walk Sat. and Sun. May 19 & 20th, 2 for the fireboat cruise on Friday May 18th at 3 PM, and 2 for Chambers Island boatwalk tour Saturday May 19th at 1:30PM.
I hate to see them wasted....

Pam - Sorry to hear you won't be able to go to the Lighthouse Walk! I already have my tickets, or I would offer to buy them from you. If I hear of anyone needing tickets, I will let you know.

Jim is referring to the Lighthouse Walk tickets when he says you can save $5.00 by ordering them in advance. You can also order the brochure, tickets, etc. directly from Door County Maritime Museum's web site: http://www.dcmm.org/

But you can only order the raffle tickets by contacting Jim either at the address he listed or at the booth at the Door County Lighthouse Walk.

Re: Door County Lighthouse Raffle - 05/01/01 07:02 PM

Thanks Jim...
The wedding is my son's...I told him I couldn't come because of the Lighthouse Walk!! He was disappointed...oh gosh, then I got my priorities straight....see what lighthouses do to a person?! LOL
But, on the other hand, his wedding is going to be a beach wedding on South Padre Island, TX, and I can visit Port Isabel since it's renovation. See??? I STILL can do lighthouses!!
I will put August 11th in the appt. book. Sounds like another good time. And...we can go in Windpoint? Great!
Hi Suzanne...Yes, I was hoping to help out at the booth in Door Co., but next time. (Seems to be the story of my life.) I do love my son, really I do!! It's just why did he have to pick THAT weekend??
See you at the next meeting.

Don't forget about the Chicago "Regional Event" in June on the 16th. Our club will be offering assistance at this event and can always use volunteers. Drop me a line if you'd like to help. KEEPERJJ@aol.com

Re: Door County Lighthouse Raffle - 06/04/01 10:26 PM

Hi
Sorry for the delay, I went on vacation last week. The week before the Lighthouse Walk, UPS lost the shipment for CA to WI. I used my pieces as visuals and the poster of TLLOM.
I received the prizes that Harbour Lights had to reship. We did the drawing yesterday. On the tickets I only requested name & phone number so they wouldn't get writers cramp. We raised $580 on Saturday for Pottawatomie. I had to leave early on Sunday for my daughters piano recital and didn't set the booth up. This was one occasion I had to think clearly and put the family first. I am waiting for some calls to be returned and I'll post the winners.
Thanks for your patience
