A Lighthouse in Dana Point?

it is always nice to have another lighthoue built. Is this one for safety concerns or just part of the overall scenic plan?

If I recall what I once read, Dana Point was supposed to get an actual lighthouse, back in the days when they were building them. The appropriations never came through, so they never got their lighthouse.

The lighthouse is planned to be a private aid to navigation. The design of the structure is based on original sketched drawn in the 40's. Funding for construction is provided by the person developing the headlands where the lighthouse will be situated. The lighthouse and community buildings (also funded by the developer) will be used for historical displays, training, and other community uses.

Cool!!!!!! I would like to see it when it is done.
