Boat Trips at Reunion - 06/20/05 08:39 PM

Are we supposed to go out on boats two times when
we are at the Reunion? If so, does anybody know
which lighthouses we will see each time?

Yes, two trips - one will cover the east area of the Straits of Mackinac (Lake Huron), the other the west area of the Straits (Lake Michigan). Basically Sheplers is customizing the usual GLLKA tours.

You may get to see a few extra lights if Dave can row fast enough.

BTW Kay, my sister who lives in St. Petersburg said she was able to get a $200 round trip fare from Tampa to Flint MI on ATA.

Hi John,

Thanks.

I got round-trip tickets to O'Hare on American
Airlines (because of the bus tour), for $177. I
thought that was a good deal.

Does your sister belong to the Tampa Bay Harbour Lights Collector's Club?

OK everyone going, pray for no thunderstorms during the Reunion...even one little measly one could cancel the boat tours...happened to me a couple of years ago in Bayfield, WI trying to see the Apostle Islands lights...

Had the same thing happen to us up in Bayfield. Bought our picnic lunches for the sunset lighthouse cruise and it was canselled due to weather. There wasn't a cloud in the sky and we wondered what was going on. As we were driving back to Duluth for the night, the skys got black and we found the storms!

Dave has posted a list of the lighthouses we should be seeing on the two Straits of Mackinac Lighthouse Boat Tours.

Includes photos.
