Derith you posted that one before, in Part XXXIV. In the first posting you spelled it Augustin even though both the old link and this last one spell it Agustin. In other words....you get the buzzer! frown

Re: International Lighthouse Game--Part XXXXII - 02/09/03 10:25 PM

Why did I know that you were going to say exactly what you said??? I probably spelled it thinking St. Augustine. So, I will go searching again....a's, e's, and i's are hard to come by.

Re: International Lighthouse Game--Part XXXXII - 02/23/03 07:08 PM

Yes, I'd been waiting for that "M" to post it. Since Derith and Bryan hadn't fed me one I had to set myself up! smile The Metal Man is also featured in Sharma Krauskopf's book "Irish Lighthouses". I took advantage of Amazon's free shipping offer a while back and picked up that one, also her book on Scotish Lighthouses and another LH book.

And now....drum roll please!

We had a nice quick trip to Atlanta and the girls really enjoyed their birthday party. Hard to believe that they are 8...tomorrow, as a matter of fact.

It has been great fun playing this game with Sue, Bryan, and early on with Paul...I am always amazed that there are still so many lighthouses that we have not posted.

Basically, you need to come up with the name of a non-US lighthouse that BEGINS with the LAST LETTER of the most recently posted lighthouse. The name you come up with CANNOT have been used before in the game.

Here's a new one for members with fewer than 500 posts:

Eddystone Rock, UK
Posted By: mombo

Re: International Lighthouse Game--Part XXXXII - 03/02/03 12:59 AM

Seagirt, Eddystone was posted many threads ago. If you want to join in this game you should do a search to see if a light's been posted. This may or may not work depending on if the light was entered in "English" or in the country's language which oftentimes includes accent marks. The unwritten rule here is that a photo link to the lighthouse named must be provided.

Thanks, Mombo! I'll be more careful from now on. By the way, anyone who likes this game can check my US and Int'l Lighthouse game out, too on this board!

John and Mary, since Eddystone Rock was disallowed, the next lighthouse must start with with an "E" or an "O".

Eagle Island, Ireland

With St. Patrick's coming I thought it would be nice to have a Irish lighthouse.

OK Let's try again. This time I used the search and did not find it.

Re: International Lighthouse Game--Part XXXXII - 03/03/03 04:30 PM

Scotland apparently has an Outer Skerry Lighthouse (1908) as well as an Out Skerries Lighthouse (1854). Neither of them has been posted so far. Since the light in your link is of the Out Skerries light and I couldn't find a photo link of the other one we'll go with Out Skerries (Scotland) for this entry.
