Repairing a broken piece... - 03/20/01 03:36 AM

Now, I know that I'm not the only one to do this (at least, I hope so)...but I recently broke one of my HL. I was hoping that someone out there could recommend the best way to repair my mistake. I'm not going to sell it or anything and I don't even need to get it back to "perfect", but I would really LOVE to fix it and make it right again.

If this matters, the piece is HL #524 - Baltimore. I broke one of the two small, plastic pieces (designed to be boat hoists) that hang over the side of the lighthouse. I was fortunate to have it break off at it's base near the platform and it actually left a small hole.

It appears to a pretty easy fix but I wanted some advice before I attempt it (I'd hate to make it worse). Any advice is much appreciated...

-Jeff

You can attempt to fix it yourself with superglue - or you can call HL 800-365-1219 for referral to a pro.

Hi Jeff;I bought a brant point at a reduced price because the fence had a corner snapped off.I put it back on with super glue and touched up the paint with acrylic white and it looks like new, can't even see a crack line

Superglue with the help of a toothpick should do the job, Jeff. If the davit was broken at the base you shouldn't have any problem making a clean mend with just a tiny drop at the tip of the toothpick. Let us know how it came out. Good Luck!

Before stareting any repair you would want to contact of famous "King of Wackos" about how to properly clean it with your handy Kitchenaire!!!

Serioulsly I have had a couple that the tips got hit and super glue does an excellant job.
