Posted By: wheland

Re: Ireland - 07/31/08 03:03 AM

Two questions-

1. What happened to days 1-3?

2. Any of those 32lighthouses have names, locations, descriptions, etc? laugh

Dennis,
I think Bob means they have seen 32 lights in 4 days.

Re: Ireland - 08/09/08 09:23 PM

So I'm guessing this is a lighthouse circuit of Ireland? wink

Sounds fantastic. I'm dying to get there, both to "reconnect with my heritage" and to lighthouse. After the US and Canada, the British Isles are next on my list.

Whose idea was the "can't rent a car until you're 25" rule, anyway?

Re: Ireland - 08/12/08 02:34 PM

We got back Sunday. 16 days, mostly sunny or partly cloudy. The only time I got soaked was on a boat. The sun seemed to follow us around the Island. It was a rainy wet summer for most of the country. Last day in Dublin we got caught in a flood going back and forth to Abbey's Tavern. My daughter Kristin did the whole itinerary and we saw 90+ lhs and all the Irish sites.(If enough of you want to go, maybe you can talk her into taking you) I even got to meet a cousin, and visit past family estates and burial grounds.

A Grand trip!

The Jealous Beam is focusing itself eastward to Long Island...

Sounds like an amazing adventure. can't wait to see some pictures. At 90 lights, you must have seen all the significant ones, and a large part of the less-significant ones.

Can't wait to hear more!

Send some pictures to Harbour Lights so maybe they could become interested in producing us a light from Ireland. That would be awesome.....
