St. Joe South Pier light gone missing

I didn't see this already posted (it's 2 days old) but the St. Joe South Pier light was washed away during high winds and rough sea.

Thanks, Mark for posting the links.. It is the light on the South Pier not the historic landmark Lighthouse on the North Pier..

Wow... this is sad news. Hope it could be rebuild somehow!

Looks like it was a small light structure only 6 feet tall--nothing major like on the opposite pierhead. The articles sort of blame it on the winds, but I feel it was the heavy weight of the waves (stirred up by the strong winds of 50 mph +) crashing into it that did it in, especially once the waves loosened it up a little.
