From Cheboygan we drove back to Mackinaw City. We watched a snow squall come across the Straits...that was really cool Here is a shot of the Mackinac Bridge that I took from the beach in front of Mackinac Point Lighthouse. Remaining clouds from the snow squall moving across the Straits.

Old Mackinac Point Lighthouse View of the tower. I really like the fact that these tower windows are so different. Rectangular and progressing downward on a diagonal. Photo of me in front of Mackinac Point. I wanted to slip under the rope and stand on the stairs by the tower, but my husband-Greg, wouldn't let me! Do I look cold? My face and fingers were like ice!!!!!

Debbie, This soon became my second favorite all-time lighthouse ... the architecture just spectacular ... But ... just maybe ... rectangular though they are, maybe just maybe they are progressing upwards on a diagonal Thanks for sharing the pictures ... Barry

Half full or half empty...right? I thought about that when I wrote it-it could go either way! I agree with you about the architecture!

Thanks John! :p I wasn't real happy either! He took the picture right after he told me that I couldn't go under the rope and stand on the steps for the photo!!!

Debbie, Great pics...I would have let you go under the rope...would have been fun to act like a kid that won't read the signs! I like the design of this lighthouse! Those windows look great going up or down!

Isn't that what vacations are for? To cut loose and have fun...occassionaly acting like a kid again...bend the rules just a little? Went down to the ferry landing and found the "old" Mac docked where I am assuming she is to remain. Lots of acivity building a breakwater up to her!

Thanks! It's neat to see the difference in the two. And to see them in person..not just in someone else's photos.
